OFRD Deployment Rosters

As you know, the Corps is moving as quickly as possible toward a new readiness posture, with the first two tiers of response being structured around response teams. The on-call rotation for these teams - as well as Tier 3 officers - will begin on June 1st. We fully realize that this leaves little time for re-arranging scheduling. However, we must be ready with an improved capability by June 1st.

In the interim, officers currently designated to the May Deployment Roster are still "on-call". The recent storms and flooding in the northeast serve to remind us that our potential missions are not limited to hurricanes. So until June 1, officers on the May roster will be eligible for deployment if needed.

Beginning June 1st, the Corps will be equally divided into on-call status on an every 5 months basis. The Tier 1 and Tier 2 Response Teams are designated as follows:

  • June PHS-1 RDF (DC-Baltimore) Region 1 and Region 6 SERTs APHT-1 MHT-1
  • July PHS-2 RDF (DC-Baltimore) Region 2 and Region 7 SERTs APHT-2 MHT-2
  • August PHS-3 RDF (Atlanta-Raleigh) Region 3 and Region 8 SERTs APHT-3 MHT-3
  • September PHS-4 RDF (Dallas-Okla City) Region 4 and Region 9 SERTs APHT-4 MHT-4
  • October PHS-5 RDF (Phnix/Albuquerque) Region 5 and Region 10 SERTs APHT-5 MHT-5

This rotation will then repeat. In this manner, no team will have the same on-call month for 2 years in a row. Additionally, RDFs and SERTs in the same geographic location will not be on call at the same time, thus attempting to minimize as best we can the impact on a duty station. Response Team Leaders are beginning to select officers for their respective teams, based on the recent officer questionnaire AND their supervisor's approval. You will be notified of that selection as soon as possible.

Also beginning June 1st, officers designated in Tier 3 will be placed into one of these same monthly rotations, with every attempt made to not overly-represent a duty station on a given month's roster. We will provide your actual assignment month early next week. The likelihood is high that your month in the new system will not be identical to the month you are on call in the current ("old") system.

If you have not already submitted a readiness "questionnaire" go to http://ccrf.hhs.gov/ccrf and click on the scrolling message across the screen. Select the readiness tier and team for which you wish to be considered, fill out the questionnaire, and submit it. A message will then be sent to your supervisor requesting concurrence for Tier 1 or Tier 2 members. Please check your supervisor's contact information, including email address, so that we may easily contact him/her.

Thank you for your support of the Corps' readiness program.
