Recruitment Sub-Committee

The Recruitment Sub-Committee is charged by the Nursing Professional Advisory Committee (N-PAC) to review and recommend policy relative to the recruitment, accession, and retention of nurses in the U.S. Public Health Service and to advise the N-PAC Chair and the Chief Nurse Officer. Additionally, the Sub-Committee will be responsible for managing the Nurse Applicant Workgroup (NAW), Every Nurse in an Ambassador Campaign (ENIAAC), and the Facebook Workgroup to facilitate communication with nurses through all phases of the application process.

Recruitment Sub-Committee Goals

  • Provide active recruitment/outreach presence through various venues as professional category volunteers committed to the growth and awareness of the Commissioned Corps.
  • Develop, build, and implement strategic plan to create regional coordinators and state representatives to represent the Recruitment Sub-Committee and facilitate communication between ENIAAC and undergraduate/graduate nursing programs.
  • Assist DCCA with applications of qualifiedapplicants NAW of this committee; provide follow up and assistance with the USPHS application process.
  • Communicate with 100% of Commissioned Corps Nurse applicants to facilitate awareness of agency opportunities and employment through the NAW.
  • Complete transition of N-PAC Facebook (FB) page to PHS Nurse FB page; through FB Workgroup. 

 

Recruitment Sub-Committee Objectives

  • Assist DCCA/DCCR in achieving active duty strength of 2,000 Nurse Corps Officers by FY 2012.
  • Establish strategic plan for ENIAAC to align with the vision and reorganization of DCCR's new Associate Recruiter Program (ARP).
  • Develop nurse specific marketing/recruitment materials and establish outreach activities to support recruitment goals for current FY.
  • Through the Recruitment Sub-Committee's 3 workgroups provide all interested Nurse Corps Officers the opportunity to be involved in recruitment activities.
  • Increase activity of Facebook page by providing real-time answers/advice through FB Workgroup.
