Nurses Week
May 6 - 12, 2007
Nurses
This year we celebrate National Nurses Week (May 6-12) with the theme of “Nursing: A Profession and a Passion”. We are reminded of the critical role nurses play in the lives of all people across the globe. Without nurses there is no one to care for other people.
Your important work insures that there is someone to care in the dawn of life when we are children, in the daytime of life when we need to stay healthy, in the dusk of life, when we grow old, and in the shadows of life when we are sick and vulnerable.
In whatever role you have, your work as nurses serves as the lantern of health for the nation and for the world.
On behalf of the Office of the Surgeon General, I salute your passion and your commitment to serve in the profession we share. You are the beacons of light and the promise of hope and health!
Thank you for your service to our Nation.
